Resistance Thermometer Inserts

Resistance Thermometer Inserts are commonly used in pocket, thermowell or head assemblies. They are constructed with Pt100 sensors insulated and protected by mineral insulated powder, which is then packed inside a rigid metal tube. They are very similar to mineral insulated resistance thermometers but they cannot be bent to shape.

Common options include:

  1. Resistance Thermometer Insert with Block
  2. Resistance Thermometer Insert with DIN Plate
  3. Resistance Thermometer Insert with Transmitter
  4. Resistance Thermometer Insert with Head

Cable Resistance Thermometers

We, dpstar Group manufacture and design cable resistance thermometers, often called cable rtd’s or cable Pt100’s. Cable resistance thermometers are very cost effective for temperature measurement below 260°C, although some designs are good up to 500°C. The construction of a cable resistance thermometer consists of a RTD element, often a Pt100 securely attached to a length of cable. The Pt100 element can then be protected in a number of ways and designed to get the best measurement from your process. The maximum temperature for a cable resistance thermometer is determined by its insulation but there are high temperature options such as glass fibre if required.

There are a variety of options when it comes to cable resistance thermometer design. Common designs include:

  1. Cable Resistance Thermometer With Screw Tip
  2. Cable Resistance Thermometer With Metal Pocket
  3. Cable Resistance Thermometer with Ceramic Pocket
  4. Cable Resistance Thermometer With Pipe Clamp
  5. Cable Resistance Thermometer With Polymer Coating
  6. Cable Resistance Thermometer With Eye/Washer
  7. Cable Resistance Thermometer With Exposed Element
  8. Cable Resistance Thermometer With Handle

Mineral Insulated RTD

We, dpstar Group manufacture and design mineral insulated resistance thermometers. Resistance thermometers are often called resistance thermometer detectors (RTD) or simply Pt100 sensors. Mineral insulated resistance thermometers consists of an external metal sheath which protects the P100 element from damage and contamination. This outer sheath is insulated with magnesium oxide powder, tightly packed so no air is trapped inside. This not only gives great thermal conductivity but mineral insulated RTD can be bent into a variety of shapes to suit your application.

There are a wide range of options for our MI resistance thermometers. They can be constructed with various diameters and materials of sheath, many different RTD types (Pt100, Pt1000 etc) and mineral insulated RTD lengths.

There are a variety of options when it comes to MI RTD design. Select the appropriate design below to view full specifications. Common designs included:-

  • MI Resistance Thermometer with Pot Seal & Flexible Tails
  • Mineral Insulated Resistance Thermometer with Standard Plug
  • Mineral Insulated Resistance Thermometer with Miniature Plug
  • Mineral Insulated Resistance Thermometer with Seal
  • Mineral Insulated Resistance Thermometer with Transmitter
  • Mineral Insulated Resistance Thermometer Insert with DIN Plate
  • Mineral Insulated Resistance Thermometer with Head
  • MI Resistance Thermometer with Cable
  • Mineral Insulated Resistance Thermometer Insert with Block

Thermowell │ Thermowell Supplier Malaysia

What is Thermowell?
Thermowell is small tubular fitting which is used in temperature measurement to protect the temperature sensor from damage that could occur during an industrial process. Thermowell is otherwise commonly known as solid drilled pockets as they consist of a metal bar stock that is drilled to create an open end where the sense is inserted. If the sensor was to break during application, the user could easily replace the existing sensor with a new one.

Common uses of thermowell is very similar to that of other components. Thermowell can be used in both an existing temperature sensor setup or can be added to a new design specification. Thermowell used in many high temperature applications because they can work effectively up to temperatures surrounding 1200 °C.

What Is The Advantage of Using Thermowells?
There are many reasons why you may choose to include a thermowell in your design specification. The main reason that people often choose to use them is because they are very durable, and provide excellent protection for the sensor from external damage caused by corrosive liquids or intense temperature.

We can provide a range of additional features to your new thermowell include addition of process thread or a custom made flange which we are able to weld and test to your specification

Contact us with your requirements if you have an existing sensor design or are unsure what you need we’ll be able to find you get the right thermowell. Please call Ms. Toh at 012-2951393 or email to sbtoh@dpstar.com.my.
